Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup

Classic American Iron at Dollywood's Splash Country

Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup brings hundreds of pre-1973 hot rods, customs, and classic cars to Dollywood’s Splash Country every fall. Held the first weekend after Labor Day, this is one of the Smokies’ largest fall car shows — with a sprawling swap meet, vendor displays, judging in multiple categories, and a 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Roadster as the grand prize giveaway.

A perfect Pigeon Forge weekend pairing with a Smith Creek Resort stay for any classic car enthusiast.

Who It’s For: Classic car enthusiasts, hot rod owners, families, photographers, and gearheads of all ages.

What to Expect: 200+ pre-1973 hot rods and customs, swap meet, vendor booths, awards ceremony, and a hot rod giveaway raffle.

Do’s: Arrive early for the best photos, bring sunscreen, and use the free trolley service from Pigeon Forge municipal lots.

Don’ts: Don’t touch cars without owner permission. Don’t bring oversized trailers — there’s no on-site trailer parking.
